What Do Members Say About Their Home?

The best part of living at CCC is the friendliness of the members. I’ve found people here are so friendly they drew me in. I was also comfortable with participating in activities with strangers, and very quickly they stopped being strangers. My life here is not lonely. I came to the Twin Cities without friends or relatives and quickly that was replaced by people I know here at CCC.

I’m 101 and living here has helped me get there. It’s just beautiful. It’s a place where there’s a heart and I love it. I’ve never been lonely here. You shouldn’t be lonely here.

Before deciding to live at CCC I had never heard of a cooperative until my family moved. We loved the simplicity of downsizing and the idea of not having to shovel any more. We loved the idea of taking care of less stuff and having more time to do the things we wanted to do. We were intrigued by the idea of living in a community and building our relationships and seeing our retirement years looking very different than we thought they were going to look. We have no regrets about moving in and have loved everything about living here at CCC.

I love it. When I moved here I lived in a neighborhood and my life was pretty busy. It was comfortable to have outside activities. Now, my life has changed and I spend more time here and that works too. It’s nice that CCC fits my life as it has changed throughout the years.

The unique thing here is the people. There is a culture of welcome and inclusiveness. There are interesting people who are not superficial and not boring.
